Audience configuration

After performing One Moment as an end-on show in the Roundhouse, we wanted to rethink our relationship with the audience and work on creating a more immersive and participatory experience. We changed the  audience configuration to a more intimate setting, balancing the distancing effect of the headphones in a different way. Our starting idea was to sit altogether with the audience around a table in a smaller space. This way they are able to see each other’s facial expression and share more, and there is room for new interactions and connections, allowing us to play with our proximity.

Becoming the creatures: Movement

We imagined the characters of timestealers as creatures in between humans and animals, androgenous and inspired by cartoon heroes. Therefore we researched how they should move. We created a coreography for them inspired by famous pop choreographies from different periods. We also explored movements of sliding up and down under the table as humans and as these creatures.

We experimented with the pulling and pushing sensations in our core and later on in different body parts as well as with some Lecoq based movements and Laban efforts. We also researched how video game characters move as we created a scene about them.
